The Sea Cliff Scrooge Stroll: A ‘Moving’ Reenactment of A Christmas Carol

Sea Cliff, NY is a community unlike any other. Sea Cliff celebrates the arts, and its residents regularly collaborate across the disciplines to share beautiful art with their neighbors. The Scrooge Stroll - billed by the Sea Cliff Civic Association as a “moving reenactment” of A Christmas Carol - exemplifies the unique talent in this waterfront community.

Building on a long tradition of celebrating the arts, the Sea Cliff Civic Association sponsors “The Scrooge Stroll” every year for the holiday season.

“The Scrooge Stroll” is a “moving” reenactment of the classic Charles Dickens novel A Christmas Carol and is performed by many talented members of the North Shore community.

The performers incorporate movement throughout the Sea Cliff community and use Sea Cliff landmarks as the setting for the performance.

The performance begins at the Centennial Garden in Sea Cliff which is right across from the Children’s Library on Sea Cliff Avenue.

The Sea Cliff community has a long history of embracing and celebrating the arts.  That said, many Sea Cliff residents are artists, photographers, musicians, and actors.

The performance includes singing & dancing, and it creates a tremendously festive sense of community.

The performers cheerfully stroll through Sea Cliff as part of the show.

In this scene, 55 Summit Ave becomes the setting for a key moment in the performance.  This home is one of many Sea Cliff homes with designated Landmark status.

The Scrooge Stroll is a great opportunity for children and adults to interact in ways that are just not possible in youth sports & clubs.

Costumes & makeup create a sense of authenticity for this holiday performance.

The audience follows the performance throughout the community.  As the actors move from scene to scene, the growing audience follows.

Holiday decorations on homes become a key part of the design for each scene.

The beautiful colors of the historic Victorian homes in Sea Cliff become a great backdrop for the scenes.

This “holiday gift” from the Sea Cliff Civic Association is just one of the many ways that Sea Cliff welcomes all of its neighbors and celebrates its unique sense of community.  Happy Holidays!
