The Poll Brothers: Restauranteurs Serving the North Shore of Long Island

Living on the North Shore of Long Island provides easy access to a tremendous variety of highly rated and wildly popular restaurants. As a realtor with Richard B. Arnold Real Estate in Sea Cliff, I always reference the great restaurants we enjoy on the North Shore.

When it comes to the restaurant industry on Long Island, the Poll Brothers are a force. Their prime steaks and their famous steak sauce are definitely worth bragging about.  And the growth of their menu beyond steak is amazing! Do you feel that deep yearning to enjoy a world-class prime steak? Are you craving an incredible sushi dinner?  Do you want to be pampered by a professional & friendly team of servers? That’s the Poll Brothers calling you to visit any one of their famous restaurants.

I’m always happy to share my insight about these 5 Poll Brothers restaurants – each of which provides a gourmet meal for friends and family to enjoy right here on the North Shore.  Simply amazing!

Cipollini Trattoria & Bar

2110 Northern Blvd, Manhasset

Americana Manhasset

Located in the heart of Americana Manhasset, Cipollini Trattoria & Bar is part of Long Island’s most prominent shopping destination. This Manhattan-style restaurant opened its doors in 2005 and offers a unique metropolitan dining experience. Thanks to the freshly prepared meals served in a comfortable environment, this eatery provides an inviting break from shopping and a great way to enjoy a meal. Cipollini consistently fulfills your appetite whether it’s lunch, dinner, or just a few cocktails. Apart from the dining area, the stunning marble bar is perfect for socializing while the glass-paneled doors are opened seasonally for alfresco dining. Salads, wood-fire-oven pizzas, pastas, and Mediterranean-style fish: you are guaranteed to find something delicious at Cipollini.

The Carne section of the menu offers prime steakhouse staples such as Veal Milanese and Filet Mignon while the wine selection is impressive. Don’t forget the specialty liqueurs and the desserts – a perfect way to end your night!

Bar Frites

400 Wheatley Plaza, Greenvale

This hip urban bistro is located at the Wheatley Plaza in Greenvale. The comfortable and inviting atmosphere at Bar Frites feels like Northern France with its wooden tables, antique mirrors, big-globe lights, white-tiled walls, and golden-tin ceiling. Bar Frites offers classic comfort food like burgers, steamed mussels, pommes frites, sautéed skate, and more. One night a week, the Plats du Jour features Côte de Boeuf, Bouillabaisse, and Coq au Vin.

In the warmer months, the restaurant opens up for outdoor dining and offers a private room for parties.

Hendrick’s Tavern

Hendrick’s Tavern is located in Hendrick Onderdonk’s restored home that was built in 1740 right in the heart of historic Roslyn Village. The dining room is adorned with burgundy leather banquets, antique mirrors, and classic photographs. The restaurant is large, but it feels intimate because of the layout.  Hendrick’s has 3 private dining rooms, 2 bar areas, a ballroom, and a VIP cocktail bar. In the warmer weather, the outdoor seating area is an amazing spot to enjoy a meal adjacent to the historic clocktower in downtown Roslyn.

Bryant & Cooper

2 Middle Neck Road, Roslyn

In 1986, Bryant & Cooper established itself as a prime destination for some of the finest steaks on Long Island. The Poll Brothers learned a long time ago that the secrets to serving the best plate of food are freshness and quality. With this restaurant, their aim was to offer the basics — a great steak, fresh grilled fish, and sides that compliment the entrées perfectly.

Their impressive selection of quality wines has also become a hallmark at Bryant & Cooper.  Consequently, Bryant & Cooper is always at the top of the list when people talk about the best steakhouses on Long Island.  Their butcher shop is also an amazing resource for families hosting a BBQ.  Their butchers provide all the insight you need to prepare a memorable meal right in your own backyard.

Toku

2014 Northern Blvd, Manhasset

Americana Manhasset

The Poll Brothers opened Toku in 2007. This Modern Asian restaurant is also located in Long Island’s premier shopping destination – Americana Manhasset. With Italian cuisine, prime steaks, and world-class seafood served at their other impressive restaurants, The Poll Brothers decided to apply their talent and explore Asian fare. They collaborated with the award-winning designers Bentel & Bentel Architects to design a space that has clean & simple modern lines while retaining the warmth of one’s home. The cuisine combines elements of Chinese, Thai, and Japanese cuisines, and the menu includes countless amazing options.  Apart from the normal dinner and lunch menu, enjoy their exclusive sushi dining experience and be sure to order appetizers for the table to share.  As we move into the Spring & Summer months, Toku’s outdoor dining area becomes a hot spot of activity and is a beautiful spot to enjoy a meal.
