45 Fern Drive in East Hills: The Quintessential North Shore Lifestyle

Situated on the North Shore of Long Island in one of Roslyn's most exclusive communities, Country Estates at East Hills offers residents a luxurious lifestyle, highly-ranked schools, and endless charm.

Residents of East Hills are proud of their community and work hard to contribute their own chapter to the town’s narrative as one of the most desireable neighborhoods on Long Island.

45 Fern Drive in East Hills is a fine example of what makes Anray Custom Builders one of the most respected custom builders on the North Shore of Long Island.  Knowing that Ray Gentile & his team at Anray built 45 Fern Drive gives this home’s owners a peace of mind knowing that no detail was overlooked in the construction of the house.

Rick Arnold from Richard B. Arnold Real Estate interviewed Ray Gentile about the ins-and-outs of custom building a home or purchasing a home that was recently constructed.  Rick shares the insight he gained from Ray in his article, “How to Custom Build Your Dream House: Know the Process!”  Click here to read the article.

Situated on an idyllic block that rests on one of Long Island’s highest points, 45 Fern Drive is only a five minute drive to the Long Island Expressway and the Northern State Parkway. The home offers easy access to every major mode of transportation on Long Island while maintaining the privacy that one expects from a beautiful, suburban home.

As you enter enter Country Estates, the community’s charm is striking. Large colonials, sprawling ranches, and modern farm ranches complement each other while the hills offer many homes a unique view with unparalleled privacy. The balanced lines at 45 Fern Drive are simply beautiful. The home's exterior foreshadows the attention to detail throughout this custom-built home.

Country Estates at East Hills is a development within the greater Roslyn community and the Roslyn School District.

Country Estates at East Hills & the greater Roslyn community are on the North Shore of Long Island.  The Park at East Hills has quickly become a central part of life in the community, and it’s a major contributing factor to the desirability of this suburban community. The park is only accessible to residents & their guests, and the operating costs of the park are directly incorporated into the taxes in the community.

The custom kitchen - with a professional grade range & ventilation system, a luxurious refrigerator & freezer, gorgeous marble counter-tops, & a farmhouse sink - can be a point of pride for the most discerning chef!

The large kitchen offers three distinct yet complimentary dining areas: a comfortable island sits three, a casual breakfast area easily accommodates a table for 8-10 people, and an adjacent formal dining room offers comfortable space for 12-14 people. In addition, the chef’s kitchen offers high-end appliances to prepare meals for friends and family. The custom kitchen masks the refrigerator and appears as yet another cabinet among the plentiful existing cabinets.

The Park at East Hills was built in 2006 & includes a 12,000 square foot pool, a 100 foot water park, and Italian tiled locker rooms. The Park’s 50-acre property also includes six tennis courts, two basketball courts, a senior-community center, a newly renovated auditorium, a nature-walking trail, a jogging trail, two playgrounds, a picnic area, a work out room, and sports fields.
Throughout this home there are so many luxurious design details. In the formal dining room, the coffered ceiling provides a sense of warmth & comfort to this large room.

Adjacent to the kitchen and the formal dining room is a wet bar to help entertain guests.  The convenient location of the bar is well thought-out in the hallway between the two rooms.

Likewise, the coffered ceiling in the great room breaks up the design of the casual den and the kitchen to create two distinct living areas that are still connected.

The amazing detail and quality of construction continues as you move upstairs.  The master bedroom, in particular, is striking. There is a tray ceiling to add nuance and detail. A nice touch is the fireplace that is visible from both the bedroom and the master bathroom.  You can enjoy a bath in the comfortable soaking tub while a fire is going and the TV is on. The additional bedrooms have their own bathrooms for privacy & convenience. While the rooms are big, the design details make each room warm, comfortable, & inviting.

The master bedroom suite offers homeowners a spa-like experience right at home. With plenty of room for a king size bed, a substantial sitting area, a stunning master bathroom, and a huge walk-in closet, one might have a hard time actually leaving the bedroom in the morning!
The soaking tub is inviting and sits adjacent to a fireplace. The shower is equally luxurious & beautiful.
There is a thriving restaurant scene in the charming historic Village of Roslyn and in the surrounding areas. Click the picture to read DayAnn McManus' Simply North Shore article, "The Poll Brothers: Restauranteurs Serving the North Shore of Long Island."

Roslyn is a community with a tremendous variety of dining options.  Steakhouses, New American, Mexican…you have your choice of restaurants right in your own town.  If you enjoy entertaining at home, 45 Fern Drive was designed with this in mind.  There is a beautiful covered blue stone patio with a ceiling fan.  This area serves as an extension of the great room, and it can be a wonderful spot to enjoy a meal or relax on a warm afternoon.

Beautiful landscaping & custom stone work line the property at 45 Fern Dr.

Roslyn is a community that embraces its history and celebrates the arts. A large portion of Country Estates was originally part of the Mackay Estate, one of the famed “Gold Coast” mansions that populated the North Shore of Long Island. The Roslyn Landmark Society raised funds to preserve one of the “Horse Tamer” statues that used to welcome guests at the estate.  The restored statue is now on display for the entire community at Roslyn’s Gerry Park.

The "Horse Tamer" statue is one of two statues that once were part of the 648-acre Harbor Hill Mansion. The other statue is being restored and will be returned to the front of Roslyn High School.
Cedarmere is the former home of William Cullen Bryant - the great American poet and former editor of the NY Post. The Roslyn Harbor grounds are open to the public and just a short drive from Country Estates.

In short, 45 Fern Drive in East Hills is an incredible home in one of Long Island’s most exclusive communities.  The greater Roslyn community offers residents so much: restaurants, arts, education, shopping, and more!  If you’d like to see more information about this home or if you’d like an exclusive showing of this home, click here.
